The horse couldn't handle going that slow early on. He was coming out of a scorching fast paced sprint race - and Gomez tried to take him back in a two-turn route without a lot of pace. All of his "trouble" was self made - he simply couldn't relax going that slowly early on. They either have to try him right on top of the early pace going a route - or cut him back. |

![]() I'm not sure what you can take from the Rebel other than The Factor can get 8.5 furlongs when he's alone on the lead on a speed favoring track. I'd still take the 2nd and 3rd place finishers, at the price they will be, in a 20 horse field any day.

He's probably a one-turn sprinter. I never really disputed that, his entire damside pedigree is full of sprinters. |

![]() If Baffert ends up on The O'Reilly Factor then I'm going to give up on this sport for good.

![]() Could you imagine the Zenyatta crowd mixed with O'Reilly viewers? It will surely be a sign of the apocalypse.

Gomez put the Boston Strangler ride on him - and steadied him repeatedly trying to take him back. I think he has a better chance - with a rabbit to help him - in a race like the Met Mile than he does in the Derby. |
