02/25/2011 HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Jockey Eibar Coa was resting comfortably Friday morning after undergoing a second surgery on his C4 vertebrae, which was broken Feb. 18 in a spill after the running of the sixth race. According to family spokesman and agent Tito Fuentes, Coa was in good spirits following surgery a 4 ˝-hour surgery Thursday and, along with being able to move his arms, had some movement in his feet. “Everything went well,” Fuentes said. “Eibar was fine Thursday night. He was in a little pain, but that’s to be expected. I think right now it’s going to be a matter of how he progresses over the next few days.” Along with the surgeries on his broken C4 vertebrae, Coa had surgery Monday to repair a broken wrist suffered in the spill.

Kathy Ritvo said she and Reeves visited Coa in Memorial East Regional Hospital in nearby Hollywood on Wednesday morning.
