![]() Nice idea but not sure how many trainers are dying to run there horses in a race that has NO Derby meaning.
Other than Mo,Gourmet Dinner,THAS,Soldat and Dialed In right now all others need Graded Earnings. I would rather take my chance in the FOY and make cash then race in new race then have to send my horse to a polytrack and hope he runs good |

![]() Is it possible those 2 go in this spot for 100k? That would be fun to watch.

![]() Your right. Did not look close enough. He asked for a race, but this definately not the race he was hoping for.

![]() I guess this is GP's roundabout way of admitting they should never have moved the Florida Derby from its mid-March spot.
Now that the Tampa Bay Derby has gobbled up prestige and significance with a bullet, GP is seeking to destroy it by throwing in this banana peel. Should be good for racing. Santa Anita did the same thing in the mid '90s, when they made the restricted Santa Catalina an open (and eventually graded) race in mid-January. They were tired of seeing already established horses like Gate Dancer, Snow Chief, Tabasco Cat, and Tank's Prospect ship up to San Francisco to run in the El Camino Real Derby, especially after all of those later won the Preakness Stakes. |
