| I really doubt it. The TC races get a fresh logo every year and they are in the same place. Some are better than others, but they don't all look the same every year. There has been a change in the philosopy of the BC people dating back to 2008. They have branded the event more thoroughly, deemphisizing the location and emphasizing their organization. The logos are simply an outgrowth of that.

I always tend to think that mainstream America only cares about 3 races a year. The BC is more for the die hard followers of the sport. While these people do spend money on merchandise, they might be less likely to splurge for more merchandise that is pretty much as the previous year.

But the logo itself is not just merchandise. It is on everything BC related, web site, advertising, publications, tickets. It is the first thing you see on anything BC related and as such, they are using it to brand the event as BC, not BC at X Downs. I don't think many players really understand how this organization works and how it relates to the "host" track.
