![]() In addition to the bad news on 'Boys', Welsch had good news on Dutrow's sleeper 3yo ROCKING OUT. The Brereton Jones-bred, JW Singer-owned Include colt broke his maiden impressively at AQU in November in his first career start earning an 87 BSF. The field included Crossbow. ROCKING OUT impressed Welsch and Dutrow himself this morning in a tandem drill that saw the soph inhale D'Funnybone after breaking off behind the elder sprinter. Dutrow invoked Big Brown in talking about what he hopes to do with the bay colt, who is out of an Elusive Quality mare, and should start his campaign with a one turn allowance soon..

![]() If Dutrow can arrange for the horse to get a perfect trip behind a suicidal pace every time he runs then he's destined for greatness.

![]() Isn't it develoments like these that only underscore the silliness of passing a race like the Champagne when the horse was reportedly doing well?

![]() Yes and no. Either you are right or it points that perhaps he didn't pass the race while also doing well. For my money, when they run by appointment only there is a reason. This one's " two and out " campaign that was mapped out after his maiden win always smelled.

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – The Breeders’ Cup is four weeks away, but when it comes to Boys At Tosconova, trainer Richard Dutrow Jr. wouldn’t mind if the $2 million Juvenile were run this weekend. “He’s ready to run right now,” Dutrow said Friday morning after watching Boys At Tosconova work an effortless six furlongs in 1:13.18 over Aqueduct’s main track. “All we have to do is bide our time; it’s not like I have to get him ready to run. He’s ready to chew somebody out right now.” |
