![]() I have a contact at the new Holiday Inn on Crittenden Drive near the track. Great hotel -- I stayed there over a year when I first took a job in Louisville. But they jack up their rates for Derby. Two years ago, I was able to get a Holiday Inn Express hotel in Louisville for 15,000 Priority Club points a night. Fortunately, now I have an apartment in Louisville.

![]() you are better off staying a couple exits away.....rooms are cheap down there and if you have triple A they are even less. if you stay in louisville near the track you'll pay way more plus its a zoo from thursday on. but then again i'm an older guy that avoids the crowds until i go into churchhill downs.

![]() Anything close to inside the loop will have double rates and 3 night minimums, which is ok if you are in for that long. I stay at Shepherdsville, exit 117 on 65 south of Louisville. Since Churchill is south of the downtown area anyway, this is only 12 miles in and we have an arrangement with a local cabbie to take care of us all weekend.

![]() Go to Indiana. There's a Ramada in Sellersburg where we've stayed since 2005. Can't beat it (well, you could beat it, but you'd also be paying six times as much).
