Slowest pace race I've ever seen

If these fractions are correct, cheap harness horses routinely run opening half miles faster than this. So how did the horse on the front end, Caminadora, not only lose, but run dead last?

No real point to this, I'm just mad I was foolish enough to bet Caminadora
