Goldfish Murdered in Suburban Home Break In

ARLINGTON HTS, Ill. —
After breaking into a home in Arlington Heights, burglars poisoned the family goldfish by pouring hot sauce, ketchup, mustard and spices into the fish tank.

Police say, upon returning home, the homeowners also found a number of missing possessions: a Nintendo game system, 30 games, CD player, 30 DVDs, a Daisy BB gun with extra BBs, jewelry and a 50-pound fire safe containing personal papers and pictures.

The burglary took place in the 2100 block of South Goebbert Road.

A total of three goldfish succumbed to their injuries.
