Beating the Devils is nothing that would make you think the Caps are back on track. I actually thought the Caps were brutal last night. They look like a beer league team running around without a clue. Plus I don't know what's with Alexander Semin, he was invisible last night and for chunks of the season and when he wasn't invisible, he stunk. They do have as much or more talent than any team in the league, but I think Boudreau needs to drop a few less F-bombs and maybe teach a little defense and instill some discipline.

i thought the caps looked good, while recognziing they weren't beating a top team while putting up five. brodeur got so flustered at one point that he purposely shot the puck into the stands, getting a delay of game in the process. semins been out the last few games hurt, so i'm not surprised he didn't come back great yesterday. also, when semin is hot, he's hot. he's the leading scorer at the moment for the team. now, when he's not, he's really cold. right now all the top scorers seem to be in a funk. they've been in a funk since thomas left. now, flash wasn't a big producer, but they did mess up the team by removing a key, well liked player. of course it has an impact.
marcus is doing well, as is matthieu perrault. i think the caps will do just fine for the year.

I think the Caps will be fine in the long run too, but it is a bit of a problem that they can go into such a prolonged funk. Doesn't work so well in the playoffs. I hope they right the ship. They are one of the most entertaining teams in the league when they are on.

Seeing the Pens might be just what the Caps needed to wake up.
