I think the roster pieces fit nicely. If Gilbert gets back anywhere near what he was, this team is going to be VERY tough.

On the Wiz side, I don't understand why you take Lewis's contract back.

What indication is there Arenas will ever get back to anywhere near what he was? He was always vastly overrated when he was at his best. If it makes the Magic good enough to beat the HEat in the playoffs if they match up, then I'm happy.

The Phoenix Suns got the best of this deal. Get a big man and lose Turkoglu big contract. Plus they got a first round draft pick and 3 million.

I think Phoenix did great in this deal as well for the direction that they are headed.

I really don't think there were any losers in this. I think the Wiz are probably the ones that you would look at and question unless Lewis improves back to his seattle days. I realize that they had to unload Arenas but couldn't they have gotten contract relief somewhere else or at least some better pieces?

Phoenix got Vince Carter. They are the loser.

Washington had to get rid of Arenas. They made a terrible decision to sign him to a ridiclous contract and he is seemingly not even close to what he was. better to just cut bait. At least lewis who isn't much more than a spot up jump shooter now is someone elses mistake. Lewis is not improving but either is Arenas. Orlando wanted rid of Lewis as supposedly Howard called him and Carter out the other day.

No, Phoenix got an expiring contract, a big man signed at a decent contract and a draft pick for a couple of bad contracts in a year that they aren't contending for anything but the last seed.

Vince Carter's contract makes them big winners.

IMO Gilbert is the least important guy they got and is more insurance for Nelson getting hurt than anything.

How did you think they could make the deal without taking a contract back?
