It isn't dumb, it is REALLY rewarding someone that gets it right, when no one else gets it, within a pool that people can care less about down in Florida.

The Old P6 accounted for less then .5% of total handle at Gulfstream

People just want to pile on because its Magna

For all the negative stuff I've heard about Gulfstream, I have also heard that it is a haven for people to go to now with all the shops and things to do and mostly the things I have heard have been generation specific, meaning older race veterens hate it, and younger people like the energy and things like this beach/tiki hut they have and the ability to send their significant other to the spa while they get to go bet like a maniac

A haven? How about making it a little easier to see a race instead of trying to turn the track into a Jimmy Buffet song. How about making it a little easier to get a bet in on big days. How about pushing to change the rule on multi race exotics when there is a surface change.

You know, things that actually help bettors.

Wouldn't you agree that on track handle is not what drives racetrack revenue?

Why not make it fun since most of your revenue comes from the simulcasting dollar.

Gulfstream has a wonderful paddock area and the shops, etc all around do give a cool vibe. Personally one of my favorite parts of the Gulfstream experience is the backdrop with the high rise condo's, etc..

So screw the people that show up to support the product? What about the fun for the people that are already there? Why keep pushing them out trying to attract jagoffs drinking red bull and vodkas and screaming for 4/5 shots every race? I guess I'm old school.

Certain bets aren't for everyone. The pick 6 is one of them. I just don't think horse racing needs to make the track and it's bets resemble a carnival. It needs to focus on what makes it unique and great.

I'll agree with this, and while I haven't been there yet, I am guessing there is some 'hardcore horse playing areas' and also some party areas. I personally like both.

One day I like f'n around and playing and other days (the bigger ones) I like sitting in a chair with two TV's in front of me and a wall of flat screens and a program with 12 tracks in it and hands waiting for multitple paper cuts

You been there? I happen to think it's a great facility. Yes, there are things that were not thought out well (the saddling enclosure out of view of the patrons), but others that are (the slot machines are out of the way).
