Sorry to get so serious, but this is just so incredibly sad...

last night one of the attorneys whose office is across mine died in his sleep of a massive heartattack. He was in his 50s and was a very kind human being. No serious health issues.

Life is too short.

It is crazy how fleeting it is...

I lost a very close friend 3 weeks ago.

A bunch of friends were having dinner at a restaurant in Tampa to celebrate a birthday. I didn't go because my wife was out of town and it was all couples...Plus we all had plans to get together the following weekend - figured we'd just catch up with everyone then.

So after dinner he and his wife head home. Get in the front door and he collapses. The neighbor, who is a nurse, runs over and begins CPR on him - no dice.

EMT's show up, load him up and take him to the hospital, but he was DOA.

Massive heart attack.

42 years old - no health problems other than he could have afforded to lose a few pounds (don't we all).

A real salt of the earth kinda guy - never bitched or complained about anything - in fact we all talked after the wake to discover that none of us could recall a single moment when they guy didn't have a smile on his face - loved every breath of life - I think about him every single day, especially when I get frustrated w/ something - I fell like he's looking over my shoulder laughing his ass off

Very sorry about your friend, you were lucky to have known such a wonderful person.
