There's a movie, old screwball comedy, called Ball of Fire.

Barbara Stanwyck plays a nightclub singer and needs to get away from the cops cause of her gangster boyfriend.

She ends up at this house with seven professors who are writing a dictionary and who don't get out much to put it mildly. Smart men who know nothing of life...

Gary Cooper is the youngest of these stuffy guys and he's researching slang so she takes him to a club where Gene Krupa is playing and, through this one song Drum Boogie, he's standing there in the background writing down expressoins cause he's so completely lost and looking like quite the moron.
