![]() I may be on a different page to everyone regarding how the horse of the year works, but who was the best filly or mare to run on turf this year in North America? It certainly wasnt Proviso!!

![]() Goldikova got the Eclipse last year with just the 1 race in North America. This year she got 5 G1s including the BC Mile, a G1 placing, and she beat Proviso. No way does anybody else get Champion Female Turf Horse, especially not with Goldikova getting that 3rd BC race. The acceleration she has is just crazy impressive.

Last year there was not a filly like Proviso who ran off 4 straight grade 1's at all the prestigious middle distance races at 4 tracks in tis country and beat males at Santa Anita.
