They said they only water it for ten minutes a day - and supposedly the trainer of Workforce wanted it watered a whole lot more.

Stoute is claiming the turf is too hard, too firm, and jarring .... and all of the American jockeys are saying the course if "soft" - Gomez called it "slippery and soft" when ESPN interviewed him about 15 seconds after the finish line. He speculated a lot of horse might not like it because they're struggling to get traction and slipping over it.

They didn't do anything different for anyone. The watering schedule was the same as it has always been.

Why would one trainer complain about a surface being too firm and jarring ... and a lot of american riders claim the course was soft?
