Horse folks have been telling the legislature this for years and that there would be an exodus of mares and stallions to the states with substantial stallion and breeder awards. This industry creates a lot of jobs in Kentucky, not just from the farms themselves but all the support industries - feed companies, fencing companies, horse goods stores, etc. But the state has been complacent, believing (one guesses) that Kentucky is The Center of the Horse World and nothing will ever change that.

Other then his prodigy sux not much.. He was bred to a lot of wondeful mares although most believe his book was completely mismanaged. You could have bred pony to a lot of those mares and still got some runners.

What does that mean, that his book was completely mismanaged?

No sarcasm intended.

Its a long story(so I have been told) but a lot of strange decisions by 3 chimneys and the syndicate managers, didnt help get him bred correctly.

What's that supposed to mean?

Did Smarty breed into the wrong hole?

Smarty Jones' star power draws a crowd in York County

Thousands thronged to the Windsor Township stable that is now home to legendary race horse Smarty Jones.

It's rare that we agree on something but we definitely do on this.

You can thank the hypocrite David Williams and his merry band of idiots for continually blocking alternative gaming which will continue to cause exodus from the state. Look how many mares have already left for Indiana...
