Isn't Castleton Lyons likely to stand Gio Ponti themselves? They don't exactly have a band of signature stallions right now, though Bernstein hasn't been awful.

If they are standing him then they might just want to run him where he can win. At least they'd have a fighting chance in the Mile, the Classic...not so much. I mean, that's unless he becomes Christophe Clement's best dirt horse since Dynever.

Why wouldn't they care about the fee if they were the ones standing him?

This will go over like a fart in church (irony not lost...wait for it)...

But Dynever has been an incredibly successful stallion in Saudi Arabia.
