If the ground is as soft as I think it is, he could have a real lively outside chance.. Its a very open Arc this year I think..

Sorry MMSC. I am betting on Dixie Music across. Will EB and TRIB with the 19, 21 and 22. GRL.

Don't be sorry!

Keep in mind, my love, that this isn't the finaaallll final field.

I shall be rooting for my boy Youmzain.

Who I play on top is a different matter. (If it were today I'd go with Planteur, Behkabador or maaaaaybe Cavalryman who I think will be happy to be back at Longchamp. Youmzain in the 2nd spot, of course!)

Mick Channon has a runner, Mr. Hughie, who will accompany Youmzain. He'll be running in the Prix de l'Abbaye with Mosse up. Fell that one time and can be a tad inconsistant but still... one to consider on Arc day. If nothing else he'll be so completely stressed by his travels with the hooligan that he might run real fast to get away from him!

Anybody know which of the TV channels will be carrying the Arc program? I don't see anything at either site. Doesn't mean it won't be there, of course, but it is nice to be able to plan.

I'm in a bind right know because I'm following the big local event here in the Bluegrass, the World Equestrian Games. My favorite, the 3-Day, just started dressage tests this morning and I missed the whole Newmarket card to watch it. The jumping phase USUALLY starts one-ish or after, but if a lot of the field makes it through the cross country, I may have a conflict. Paid for the streaming from NBC.

Wish I could go to the Horse Park in person, but am convalescing from an illness and daren't take that much exercise outdoors for know. Maybe I'll be well enough to take in the Driving Marathon.

I know you all know there's a chance Goldikova doesn't run (this weekend) because of the weather...

Dunlop withdrew Snow Fairy and Native Khan from the Prix de l'Opera and Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere.

Not good...
