She should win this race on Saturday. The 1200m is a bit short of her best, but if she's anywhere near her peak she'll be way too good for them. I'll drive up north to see the races up there, so I'll report back on how she goes (and post a replay).

Where abouts is Ruakaka, Ed? I'm an Englishman living in Victoria and my NZ geography is terrible.

Should be a good day at the Valley tomorrow (as long as the weather stays dry...... unlikely). A few good races to be seen but only really going to see Hay List and his connections.

I think he's way better than these lot, but the race looks very unlikely to suit him and his style, so I'm a little worried. Hopefully class will see him through.

It's in the upper North Island, about two hours north of Auckland.

It's a very small town, but it's a great track because it's sand-based, so the drainage is amazing. It's been a wet week, but the track looks set to be a dead 5 - fantastic.

And when you go around the back of the grandstand, you're basically at the beach, so the scenery is great on a nice day. One time I went out there between races and saw a whale in the bay.

I'll definitely find a TV to watch the Melbourne races tomorrow, though, and also some from Sydney - their fields look pretty nice. 2009 NZ Derby winner Coniston Bluebird is at a whopping 300-1 in the Theo Marks! Probably rightly so against that lineup over 1400m.

Sounds like a great track to visit. I'll put it on the list.

Do you get to Karaka for the yearling sale in Jan/Feb? I might be heading over next year with a few to sell - but would prefer to stay at home to be honest.

Looks very competitive stuff at the Valley tomorrow, I'm looking forward to it. Been given a good word for Pitt Street in the first. Likely to be a big price, so we'll see how it goes.

I usually make it out there, but I don't think I'll be able to this time - pretty busy with work and university between now and next June.

If you do come over, I'd recommend you check out the twilight races at Ellerslie the day before the sale starts if you get the chance. It's a terrific night at NZ's best racecourse.

Katie Lee was a little disappointing today.

Here's a replay: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnPoiQer62k

She might have had a few excuses. She's never been great fresh - she didn't win the first start of either of her last two campaigns - and she looked a little bit fat. Plus, most of the races were won from on or near the pace, and some rain on the day made the track a little shifty. It definitely didn't suit all runners.

But still, I think she's the 5th best horse I've ever seen, and that performance today wasn't anywhere near what I expected. She was 7-8 lengths below her best form, and will have to improve a lot to be competitive in the Melbourne campaign they've got planned.

Heading off the the Valley on Saturday to see Hay List. Should be a good race. I hope he's fit and ready to do himself justice. Not sure if Moonee Valley will suit the big fella, but he's hopefully got too much class for the rest. Reward For Effort concerns me though and he's unlikely to get to the lead early, if he does, then he is a superstar.

Clyde, for once can you act like a grown up? If you want to contribute to a thread with something meaningful, by all means please do, but if you're just going to make childish comments about anything and anyone..... don't bother.

MMSC, are you able to just remove those posts - there are no significance in them and it's pi$$ing us off. Or maybe just tell him you're not interested in teenagers.

Okay babies look... I hate to have to play Mommy. First amendment and all... I seriously do hate to censor anyone.

If anyone wants anything deleted pm me and, as long as it's reasonable, I'll do it.

In the meantime how about this... shall we start an insult thread and, if so, can we do it in Eso? Wanna think about it while i pass out the apple juice and cookies?

Please don't do the drama queen thing and suggest that I'm asking you (any of you) not to post here... that's ridiculous.

I just don't want to have to clean up your doo doo.

I'm leaving the posts where they are (well you never know, there might be a good comeback or something ) unless I get a request to delete.

Okay... go and have quiet time.

Finally got to take a look at Reward for Efforts race...

Respectfully that's not exactly a tough field, is it?

Faint Perfume at 8/1 is crazy.

I should probably stay the hell away from the race with Shoot Out and Tracy but i can't resist that one and have to play Whobegotyou and use my favortie horse in the race (Zipping!) somewhere underneath.

Sorry for going from Moonee Valley to Rosehill but good luck to Hinchinbrook (who I probably won't bother playing unless the odds go up a bit), No Wine No Song (who wins this one and pays me back! ) and my naughty boy who won't hit the board, Newport. I'll always be a fan, but...

Stuck on the other race...

More Joyous probably wins BUT Snipers Bullet, Brilliant Light and Black Piranha (he'll only do well if I don't play him)... dying that's such a great field and i will try to beat her although that might be pointless. Oh I like Rothesay too.

Will probably play Sniper or Brilliant Light on top...

How about you all?

Put in my plays earlier and just now checking results.... well I had the Whobegotyou / Tracy exacta (didn't pay much) and a very small win bet on him.

Did win bets on Faint Perfume and Playwright (incase Spacecraft doesn't feel like winning today). ... yet to be run.

Aaah well if nothing else there's Japan tomorrow night.

Haven't read back thru this thread yet... hope you all did well.

edit - At the lst minute I did an exacta... Spacecraft over Plauwright, Pacino and Magical Pearl. Had that exacta but crap the tri (Spacecraft, Magical Pearl / Pacino) paid $846 Shoot me now. .
