Won’t see I Want Revenge at Spa meet

SARATOGA SPRINGS — If you want to see I Want Revenge run this summer, you will have to head to Monmouth Park.

The 4-year-old colt, who was scratched on the morning of the 2009 Kentucky Derby (he was the morning line favorite), won’t run at Saratoga. That’s what his trainer, Rick Dutrow, said Wednesday morning.

“He’ll run at Monmouth, in the Iselin,” Dutrow said Wednesday morning outside his barn on the Oklahoma Training Track. “It (the Aug. 7 Whitney Handicap at Saratoga) would come up way too quick for him.”
