I've never once thought of my horseplaying friends as redboarders when they call me up and share a great score. If they always did it, and never talked about how they just missed, I might get annoyed. Why is it any different here?

Yeah man. Some people are pathological about redboarding. It's like worse than committing a murder. Pretty freakin weird.

I mean, I get it how some people will say they hit the p6 for the 72nd day in a row and all, but when someone is clearly just happy about hitting a nice score, I fail to see the reason in getting up their ass about it by saying they are a redboarder.

Me too. I think that person could possibly be more truthful than the person who claims to be making certain plays every day too.

This is a good point. Obviously there are a lot of people here who are very familiar with each other and it's annoying when someone just swoops in and says, "Oh man, I took down that early Pick 4 at Saratoga, the Chad Brown horse was a cinch." Your first inclination is to tell them, really, could you have mentioned that somewhere before the race, jackass?

However, when someone comes on and says (i.e. Pat Cummings' superfecta in the Derby), "I made the bet of a lifetime and got very lucky" it's a lot tougher to say to him, you redboarding dog turd.

So, basically, IMO, it's whether you go about it in a disingenuous way. Do I have animosity towards any people who come on and say they hit something, particularly something big? No. But if they do it in a way that comes off as "look at me, I'm the best handicapper evar" then I will certainly get annoyed because the same way they posted that they won, they could have posted who they liked.

When in Vagas for the super Bowl and not finding a Derby future that I liked. I took a 135.00 flyer on the tx rangers @35/1. I have the ticket stored in a drawer and am hesitant about taking it out and admiring it but I dont wanta jinx it. Is this redboarding?

No, that's called standing by your team despite them being a disappointment since Day 1 of the franchise existing. Good luck the rest of the way.
