Tom.. It's as crazy a story as in anyone's memory. The woman that owns is a major loon. Welsch said his conversation with her was incomprehensible. She frequently has no idea where the horse even is. It's a truly bizarre situation. Mike wasn't sure but was confident that Calder would try to exclude the poor thing today in the best interest of horse, other entrants and bettors.

Damn, now I'll never know the answer to this.....

As for running her seemingly hopelessly overmatched maiden in a graded stakes, Solange said "When the race is finished I'll tell everybody the full story, but I have faith in Nicky and she is going to make Miami proud."

I really would love to know the thought process. Maybe Byk can interview her and coax it out of her.
