I have 2 cases of confetti on order for next Wednesday... the first day of school.

Does that answer your question?

How's your son doing? Hope all is well.

Default George Washington Filly

http://auctions.bloodhorse.com/article/47897.htm

Does anyone here know anything about Gildawn stud? They bought GW's only offspring at the sale today, paid 280k euros.

Will they just breed her or will she make it to the track?

Any info is appreciated. I don't generally follow the international scene (I can't even keep up with the state-side scene) but I thought GW was a lovely horse and was at Monmouth for his ill fated BCC. The image still haunts me.

Thanks in advance!

It will be interesting to see if they even try to race her.. Seems like she is worth enough now, just as a broodmare.

I've only seen a couple of pictures of the filly, but she can't have been much of a looker. To make only that much with the pedigree and the hype and being George Washington's only foal.

Add to the fact that Coolmore weren't even interested in her as broodmare potential.

With ease. She has an odd running style, her head and neck are held so high, is that common with European runners or is it just her age?

She won well, but easy to get carried away with. Richard Hannon's 2yos are always ready to win first up and for a Newbury maiden it was pretty weak - i know the horse that ran second isn't up to much. The race was also run in a pretty slow time considering how fast the track was.

I've heard rumours that she had xrays issues as a youngster and wasn't the most correct, which is probably the reason why Coolmore weren't at all interested, even just for a broodmare prospect. Which seems to me that they knew something that others didn't?

I'd want to see her race again before I thought she was going to be above average.
