I think Gore is more of an oppurtunist than an environmentalist. My understanding was that back when he was planning to run for President the first time back in 1992, he needed an identity. He and his handlers decided that most people were pro-environment and that this would be a good, safe identity for him. So he came out with this book that many people say was actually written by a ghost-writer. I think the book was called "Earth in the Balance".

Anyway, who knows if Gore truly cares about the environment. He's been getting rich from his books and speeches about the environemt. There's no doubt about that. He may really care about the environment. Who knows? But the guy is such a phony that I have my doubts.
