Jeter is the ultimate athlete. Has won 4 rings, ALWAYS comes through in the clutch, doesn't get involved in scandals or drugs. Hes a throwback to the old days when athletes could be role models for kids. Thats why its Jeter this and Jeter that. Don't worry, a few more days and it will all be over for Tiger fans. |

![]() Jeter being clutch is the biggest myth in baseball. In the postseason he hits .307 as opposed to .317 in the regular season. In the postseason he strikes out at almost a 20 percent clip as opposed to 17.5 percent in the regular season. In the postseason he averages an RBI every 9.8 at bats as opposed to every 7.8 at bats in the postseason.
Isn't a clutch player supposed to improve those numbers in the postseason rather than see them dip? It isn't like he's any more clutch in the regular season, he hits .307 with RISP and .314 with the bases empty. He's a very good baseball player but this idea that he is so clutch cause people remember a couple big plays and forget all the times he's struck out in the late innings of big postseason games is ridiculous. |

![]() F'ing Tigers gave that game away last night. Not sending Thames with no outs in the third on a single to right and the double steal an inning early totally blew the game in the wrong direction. Inept postseason coaching combined with an inexperienced team led to that loss last night.
