I believe the whales that the Japanese kill are mainly minke whales. They may not be as endangered as humpback whales, but they are still considered a "threatened species". By the way, Japan wants to start killing humpback whales too.

I guess since they are only a "threatened species" on the endagered species list, that it's fine to kill them. LOL.
