matt - it's not hatred , it was a nice day , we could have had big turnout , there was a big c/o , i think it's a bad business decision that's all , nyra left a lot of money on the table by not running yesterday

the biggest disaster of the weekend was monmouth , and i even responed to randall about that , it's a personal opinion about NYRA and sunday , they could run sunday and not come back to thursday if they want to let everyone get an extra day off .

as far wagering on it weds gives people a bit of time to re group..also making it a big event mid week..many players who were on/off track were in mid travel or had to do something else. im pretty sure they have done this for sometime.off sunday after.

I love when there is no racing....

I'll second Bigs notion of not running, gives you time to handicap. I don't like NY wagering besides Saratoga but I'll probably give Wednesday a shot off the pure value.

Default Manhattan Not Shown Live

I don't know who exactly was at fault here, NYRA or ABC or both, but it was absolutely disgraceful the Manhattan wasn't shown live for some internet wagering accounts or mine wasn't able to view it that I know. To make matters worst ABC seemed to think it was not worth showing either. This was the race I was most looking fwd to all day and to not be able to view as it was happening was just bullcrap.

What could possibly make you think NYRA wouldn't want ABC to show the Manhattan?

What's next, that NYRA was in cahoots with BP? This stuff is endless.

That's already been bandied about. The jury is still out.

I have no idea what happened this day, previous years I do not recall this ever happening, I don't know who is at fault and I do not know from a logistics television point of view was it even possible. But to show Randy Moss going over the early oddsboard of the Belmont or Dale Romans and G Fox's relationship was a total waste IMO. Maybe NYRA could have strong armed them into showing the race for their fans from a PR point of view, I was not impressed having bet the race and having to wait 10 mins to see what happened.

I don't think NYRA has any leverage to strong arm ABC on anything. What are they going to say? Show the race or else? While I agree that it sucks not to see the race and if they arent going to show it they should allow TVG/HRTV to show it, it really isnt that big of a deal.

As for NYRA racing on Sunday, I have been to Belmont on the Sunday after the Belmont in previous years. There usually is noone there. The 4 day leadup to the Wed carryover will help NYRA handle far more money on the wager than if they had it on Sunday. Is this even debatable?

And I still can't believe that Romans and Greg Fox have a relationship. I didnt even know they were gay
