I've absorbed enough of the game's history since to know that he practically owned the '80s, won four Kentucky Derbies, was the face of horseracing, etc. He was the most successful trainer out there. What happened in between? How did he become (relatively, to what he was) such complete horse$hit? Why are so many people seemingly happy about his fall from the top?

I've got so many questions...

Like: What is the correct way to spell the plural of "Derby?" Is it derbies or derbys? Neither one looks right to me for some reason.
I haven't seen too many scornful comments toward him in this thread but historically there was Codex who supposedly "mugged" Genuine Risk; A reputation as a manager rather than a hands on trainer;High profile horses breaking down.
I have no idea why anyone would feel "happy" about another's fall from the top whoever it may be unless he was a world dictator of some sort.
