Metulla had run Beyers of 58, 59, 61, 58 and 60 in his last five starts and won a pretty strong open $7,500 claimer at BEL first time Rudy on Thursday. West Coast Flier made an 18-point Beyer jump from Enrique Arroyo to Rudy. Temecula Creek (albeit with some good back form) claimed from Jacobson for $7,500 from a race where he ran a 37 Beyer, then returned to win back-to-back starter allowances with 90+ Beyers for Rudy. Rocketing Returns made a 15-point Beyer jump for Rudy and won a starter allowance off a $12,500 claim from Seth Benzel.

This is just from horses entered in the past two weeks. He doesn't have the stakes horses that Wolfson had yet, but he's doing some magical things.

Look at some of the trainers he is claiming from. Contessa is having a god awful meet. Enrique Arroyo? Another beaut.

Explain Aegean Breeze. Metulla. Rocketing Returns. Temecula Creek. Jacobson was giving away that horse and he ran like it, then he turns around like nothing happened and wins back-to-back stakes quality starter allowances.

FFS, look at Aegean Breeze and Metulla's PP's before their wins. Anybody who can't see that Rudy is juicing is a rube.

Metulla did have a decent Beyer increase.....but the horse ran basically the same race/style/type of race before.

I am not saying it isn't impossible that he is doing something fishy....but to say what Scavs implies in my opinion is ludicrous. If Dutrow has created some superdrug and is testing it through Rudy's horses I will be the first to say I was completely wrong, but I think there is a better chance of Freddy giving up drinking than that cockamanie theory being right.

i think it might be a little bit of both. he might have found some sort of an advantage. but, he is improving off of some less than stellar trainers. metulla ran a huge race for that level. but for arguements sake lets say rudy is a very talented trainer. is it hard to believe a horse will run an improved race after getting out of neal terracianos barn?

rocketing returns fell into a paceless race. he got a heads up ride from lezcano and took advantage of it.

i cant explain aegean breeze although she ran back to her prior form today. look at what steve asmussen is doing with the horses he has that enrique arroyo used to train.

im not saying hes not doing anything. but i think its a combonation of things and among them is being a talented horseman.
