While I agree that it is foolish to wager on Polytrack without seeing a horse's form over it, I used Ball Four (but did not single him) in the NTRA Pick Four precisely for that reason. It made sense to include him. Someone asked me who I liked for a win bet, and I said that you simply cannot single one horse, particularly when you could not forecast how the big names in the race would respond to it. And I'm not sure how well workouts over Polytrack will help with handicapping, either. How many times do we hear trainers say that their turf horses work great over the main track before entering them in big Grade One races on dirt? Then, faced with competition and pace, they forget to change leads or quit when being pelted with sand.

I'll watch Keeneland's Polytrack races from the sidelines. There is more than enough top notch turf action to keep me occupied.
