Agreed, after I saw the opening quarter in .21 and change I was cursing because I figured the 2 was done, the 4 actually looked to be struggling on the turn and the 5 would be coming. It just looked like he waited too long to start his move.

He needs a speed duel and a race that collapses. If he's asked on the turn he's bouncing in the stretch.

Fat - My point was that his style is much closer to the pace, especially going 5.5F he gave the horse no chance to be involved. The 2 and the 4 were both decelerating rapidly and the 5 was full of run late. It isn't the fact that if he's asked on the turn, he's bouncing (I agree) it is that he doesn't have an explosive final kick and is successful pressing, not closing, especially at 5.5.

the race was over for him way before the turn.

Joyful Success ran better than Circle Drive did last out, when the latter got exactly the trip you wanted. In the race that he won, CD got a perfect trip sitting just behind 2 duelers. I understand the rationale behind the cutback being favorable for this horse but it also favored JS. I don't understand why they put blinkers on that one, however. I would have kept them off and had him stalk.

Guys, any thoughts here on the 2 in the 3rd. She was the last horse off my ticket and she's taking alot of money. I tossed her because she wins first out in Mdn Special and for the 2nd straight race she's dropping in price. I just don't understand why she would be for sale after that first race. Anyone?????????

I don't care to see trainer-owned horses on a drop like that after only 2 starts - tells me something's off - not like Barry Abrams is living in his car and needs the money...That was the main reason I shied away... Tricky leg there...hoping the 7 was the single and thought the backclass on Scilly would have been a logical bomb so I included, but a crappy race like that usually throws the sequence out of whack - unfortunately the wrong bomb gets home
