I didnt say the Rooneys weren't wealthy. They are wealthy but a vast majority of their wealth is in the team. Compared to the Dan Snyders of the world (see relativelyspeaking) they aren't in the same league.

I am extremely surprised by this statement. I don't mean to jump on you here but I don't think that is coming out the way you intended. Are you really saying that an owner's individual worth "really doesn't matter" in regards to signing free agents because of the salary cap?

The Rooney family is plenty wealthy. That little harness track in Yonkers is basically a money printing machine.

Yes an owners wealth really doesnt matter in regards to signing free agents. If it does then how does Green Bay sign anyone?

In the NFL there is a hard cap and floor. Last year it was 128 million and the floor was 87.5% of that number. The cap is based upon the per team revenues. Extra benefits above the cap are capped at $12 million. So basically the teams HAVE to spend a certain amount on their payroll and CANT spend more than a certain amount all of which is based on guaranteed shared revenue. So how exactly does an owners individual wealth matter when signing FA's?

Now the extra's like stadium deals, payroll for coaches and staff, facilities, etc can no doubt be affected by an owners wealth but I dont see how an owners individual wealth matters in matters of free agency. It is really the main reason why the NFL is such a competitive league and there arent any FL marlins, just mismanaged teams (Redskins)

Speaking of the skins, they practically gave away campbell. A fourth rounder, two years from now, for him. Was that the best they could do??

true..and yet they thought he was a step up from jamarcus-which he is. just surprised that they'd take a 4th rounder for him, two years from now. but i think they'd have taken a couple prizes from cracker jack boxes, they just wanted rid of him.

I''m a Bills fan. Does anyone agree that this draft for the Bills is about as bad as it gets.

The Bills have been bad for years. Do you expect it to end soon?
