![]() Afleet Alex doesn't lug in with a few jumps left and he's probably your first Triple Crown winner since 1978. That being said, I know there are many DT-ers who don't think much of Afleet Alex.

![]() I still can't believe he didn't go down in the Preakness. A truly athletic horse. And he was very good short and long. I was impressed. Not as much as by Smarty but yes.

![]() I'm certainly not saying that I agree that Eskendereya is going to win the Triple Crown (or even the Derby) but he is the only one coming into this year's Derby off of an impressive spring.
In 2005 that wasn't the case. Bellamy Road's Wood certainly had people excited, but so did the final preps of Afleet Alex and Bandini. And DrugS liked Giacomo. |
