You and me both, but as long as he doesn't come to the states, that's what it is for me...wishful thinking. I'm really rooting for this horse, and you are right...He is amazing.

It looks like I'll be among the minority then, as I intende to lay Deep Impact big time. Given that he wont have encountered anything remotely similar to what he will on Longchamp on Sunday, the softer conditions, the high-class opposition, that there remain questions over the worth of his form (his sole defeat came at the hands of Heart's Cry, who wasn't good enough in the King George) and the fact that he hasn't run since June all combine to make 3/1 look absurd.

Lay lay lay!

The race has to be between Hurricane Run and Shirocco. On the day I know I'm going to end up going with Hurricane, but I'm sure it's not that clear cut.

The greatest Arc of recent times was Dancing Brave's devastating 1986 triumph when he had the likes of Bering, Acatenango, Shahrastani, Shardari, Saint Estephe, Mersey, Darari and Triptych floundering in his wake. Races simply do not get any better.

In the last 10 years, Peintre Celebre's 1997 success over Helissio, Pilsudski, Oscar Schindler, Swain (1-2-3-4 in 1996) as well as Borgia, Predappio and My Emma was remarkable.

U and me both. I think Deep Impact is in way over his head here. I think he's running for third at absolute best.

Don't take the 'firm' for the Tenno Sho last spring as gospel - it was run in a rainstorm. (TVG re-broadcast it.) His closing kick in that 2-mile (3200m) race was quite astonishing.

I agree with you and thought the same thing. I wasn't expecting to see a kick like that at the end of two miles. Its one of the things that made me think he is the best. and yes, it was rainy and not firm at all.

Race goes off at 11:30. I know you can advance wager today at Belmont and you can use the self service betting from 11am-11:30 tomorrow. It is Longchamp Race 7.

Hurricane Run looks like the winner.

Didn't he run it in 2:24 and change too? Shades of the great one - even in a deep turf. Incredible.
