![]() I've watched all three of the big guns, and they look pretty evenly matched to me.
If it comes up soft, I'll go with Shirocco. Hurricane Run didn't switch leads down the stretch in the Prix Foy until they hit the wire. It may have impacted the outcome of the race. Every time Hurricane Run switches leads, he usually takes off with a tremendous burst of speed. However, Shirocco showed his heart and class, and held him all the way. Still, Hurricane Run may can beat this guy. However, I think Deep Impact's heart gets him to the wire first. He is probably the prettiest moving horse that I have ever seen. He looks as if he is running on air he touches the ground so light. His turn of foot is phenomenal. I love this guy! What a race this is shaping up to be. Who else is running? Pride? Heart's Cry? One thing is for sure...this is going to be a race for the ages. We'll be talking about the champion of this race for years to come. Last edited by kentuckyrosesinmay : 09-27-2006 at 09:05 PM. |

![]() Well, I will be honest. I hate to be one who jumps on a bandwagon, but Deep Impact is the best horse I have ever seen run (on television.) I only wish I could see him up close. I will be surprised if he gets beat. He's amazing.

![]() It looks like I'll be among the minority then, as I intende to lay Deep Impact big time. Given that he wont have encountered anything remotely similar to what he will on Longchamp on Sunday, the softer conditions, the high-class opposition, that there remain questions over the worth of his form (his sole defeat came at the hands of Heart's Cry, who wasn't good enough in the King George) and the fact that he hasn't run since June all combine to make 3/1 look absurd.
Lay lay lay! The race has to be between Hurricane Run and Shirocco. On the day I know I'm going to end up going with Hurricane, but I'm sure it's not that clear cut. The greatest Arc of recent times was Dancing Brave's devastating 1986 triumph when he had the likes of Bering, Acatenango, Shahrastani, Shardari, Saint Estephe, Mersey, Darari and Triptych floundering in his wake. Races simply do not get any better. In the last 10 years, Peintre Celebre's 1997 success over Helissio, Pilsudski, Oscar Schindler, Swain (1-2-3-4 in 1996) as well as Borgia, Predappio and My Emma was remarkable. |

![]() No way does Deep Impact win this race. I don't think this horse is as good as he appears to be when beating up horses in Japan. I think he will really struggle in the Prix. I could be wrong, but I do not see this horse finishing in the money. I like Hurrican Run in this spot, unless it is very very soft.
