Cool write up about Devil's Bag alos in the first article in him getting ready for his 3 year old debut as a prep for the Flamingo.

Chuck you really do need to get back to a track soon. You clearly have too much time on your hands.

Good stuff, I see where Happy Valley (Wolfson Jr) had 2 in the Pan American, Ayman and Talakeno.
Talakeno was 35K short of being a millionaire and beat Manila in the Bernard Baruch Handicap. Talakeno won 3 in NY in 87 but did nothing to speak of after the Manhattan H.
Does anyone remember him? His last 5 races were in FL and I don't believe he hit the board in any of them.

I remember Mat Boy. He was stabled on the backside of us when i worked for Howie Tesher at Hialeah. He galloped with no saddle with his legs still done up in poultice everyday. After he galloped they brought him over to the hose and cooled him down without walking him. I think Chucks right, that was his last race. We had Ayman in the race and my friend John Thomas won the race with Tonzarun.

I remember Talakeno. Before he got good, Frankie Brothers had him at Fair Grounds.

I also remember Ayman. Laz Barrera shipped him to FG for the 1985 New Orleans Handicap. He got in a speed duel, went 6f in 1:10 and 2/5, and tired down the stretch under a young Gary Stevens.
