No he wouldnt have , if he would have circled he would have got beat , he only won by little more than a length , he loses if he circles.

Looks like it was quicker ground in there. See Interactif fly on the turn (while running on the rail.) Caracortado looks like he's not getting his moneys worth out there, and then goes even wider coming into the stretch. In the 5th race, the winner seems to be running on better ground down there. After the race, you can see this animal still full of run on the 1st turn. Ditto the San Felipe winner. The winner of the 5th has had easy leads on this surface before, and still hadn't won here yet. He got run down late after being clear on a 1:14 pace. Today, they weren't coming. Some of that is due to that better ground down there today. That trainer isn't very good, and/or doesn't cheat. His horses don't usually look the way that winner did after the 5th race. I think he was enjoying better ground. There were some slow paces involved, but, still, I think they also had a lil better ground down there. Zenyatta had to run down the #1 horse, right? Down on the inside in the stretch (some lil rat with Garcia trying another thievery.) In the last race, some horse on the inside leads until late, and finally gets passed. I think Smith probably stayed down there for a reason. I think Atkinson probably didn't know that, or didn't care. I'd dump him now for the smarter money rider (Smith) if he's not already committed. Not saying he was gunna beat the soft pace leader, but he shouldn't of gone wide on a track that wasn't favoring the outside. A horse that is this hardcore (Caracortado) is often gunna get hurt in a situation just like this.
