You're the classic bully, DrugS. You love it when you're right yet you can't handle it when you're wrong. You know I respect your opinion and your overall knowledge of the game. Take it like a big boy. A 3rd stringer beat your champion. **** like this happens (quite often in numbers land).

I look forward to discussing PID this year with you, as I'll be playing.

Didnt anybody notice how hard R.A. was lugging in ? Champions dont do that , or at least they shouldnt , she is done . If she brings that race to the next she gets beat again.

Dont you think that was more a product of her being short?

Nope , she was lugging in before the running started , he already had her head cocked passing the horse on the lead at the 5/16ths pole. She continued to lug in after that if you watch the replay he goes to the left handed stick right away . I have watched her races and I dont recall her lugging in before today , perhaps she did but was on the lead and it didnt matter . When horses start lugging one way or the other there is a habit forming and it may have started in the morning but either way they better get her over it.

So, you figure Rachel would have lost to Dance to My Tune today?

And, no, I didn't notice how hard she was lugging in. Even during my fifth viewing.

Try watching it without your head tilted.

LOL ok man , just watched it again , notice her head being tilted out rounding the first turn( the shadow on the track gives it some definition) , she does line out down the backside but you see Borel at the half reach up and get another hold , again her head is tipped out , he gets another hold when she changes leads and never attepmts to go right handed he pulls his stick thru and goes to the left handed bat after he passes the horse on the lead. Maybe she was lugging because he was holding her so hard either way she was still lugging in.

I think we need to see the head-on. I also wonder if she wasn't a little unhappy being ( sort of ) pinned down inside another horse in the stretch.

I did see this during the running, but that wasn't surprising- I figured her to be eager off the layoff.

Zenyatta didn't run her best today either, but thankfully didn't run into any good horses. She did a good job just finding a way to win anyways.

I respect your opinion on noticing horses' condition but also I didn't see anything here. She just looked very short and lacked the burst she usually has. Her head was a little cocked but she looked like she was watching her opponent. In retrospect, her worst race last year was also at Fair Grounds, I'm hoping that was what caused her poor performance. Zardana is a nice horse but not one I'd expect to beat Rachel, especially given the circumstance (no trouble, decent but far from exceptional pace.)

Look at her head position coming past the 5/16ths pole , when a horse is running comfortable and straight you dont see its head tipping out , dude watch the replay , she was lugging in , is she a horse that always lugs in ?

I watched it again and still don't see it. She has never lugged in in the past. Hopefully she comes back OK and it was just a bad day so we can get the matchup everyone wants. The commentary would indicate as such. Borel and Asmussen both thought that she was just short and Assman even insinuated he didn't do a good job training up to the race.
