Its getting so old... I hate synthetics, but they are not going anywhere... People just need to stop, racing is racing and Z is the goods on either surface.

Hey genious, she is a 5 yo Mare. She's not gonna improve anymore. Unless switched to Wolfson of course.

actually, i think she's six now.

honestly tho--if i were the mosses, i wouldn't travel. keep her home and get the win streak record. not saying she'd lose travelling....but why mess with something when it's not broken? she hasn't shipped out of cali in a year, shipped and raced in two....
i have to wonder now how it's going to unfold. if jackson backs out, citing lack of readiness, zenyatta won't come anyway because the big purse goes away.

The all-time win streak is 56 races, the feat of the Puerto Rican star Camarero in the 1950s. The top-international-class-racehorse record belongs to the legendary unbeaten Hungarian mare Kincsem with 54. Any other 'record' is an artificial construct, made by limiting by time (21st Century?) or location (US and Canada? The Caribbean Islands are usually counted as part of North America.) I doubt that Zenyatta's people are going campaign her to reach either of these two records.

Those "records" are not relevant. Puerto Rican racing in the 50's and Hungarian racing in the 1870's have no relation to modern racing. It is like insisting that the All time, single season HR king is Joe Bauman for his 72 hr season in 1954 for the class C Roswell of the Longhorn league.

i'm talking about the record pepper's pride currently holds (sorry, miraja!) but you knew that. and yes, i think everyone is well aware of kincsem and her 54wins, irrelevant as it is.

They are both great, amazing horses, but Z is better.

an opinion, but certainly not a fact as for the moment you can't prove it. you can give reasons til the cows come home for having that opinion....but that doesn't mean you proved it.

opinions are like ......

in this game you make money when your opinion is correct and you lose when it is not.... I seem to recall your opinion being wrong at least as much as anyone elses

He's gearing up to put $1,000 to win on Z in the Apple Blossem and if she wins he will no doubt bust out his pom poms and tell us he is the best handicapper in the world!

How is this different from making sure to always check a certain someone's NYRA picks before putting down YOUR money? At least he basically has his OWN opinion.

Enjoy the day's events.

sadly, there are some who think one or the other isn't special, when in fact both are.

i didn't see either race. i'll have to go to twinspires to see the replays. we didn't get home in time from quiz bowl regionals (our team won, yay! my son was mvp-a bit of bragging is warranted i think!)....anyway, i hope they're both as close to 100% in a few weeks time as possible, and that they are still able to have the race.
