Rose actually cost him the 2yo championship with an absolutely terrible ride in the BC Juvie.
So you don't think yanking the horse to the outside coming out of the first turn and then attempting to sustain a drive for about 6f was the best strategy?
Rose's lack of patience on the horse probably cost him the Triple Crown as well as the BCJ.

IMO the CD track cost him the triple crown. Unfortunately, there was about a 200 yard long stretch on the inside around the turn and the start of the stretch where EVERY horse that ran through there looked like they were running in quicksand. I was sitting right there and didn't believe my eyes until I rewatched all the tape from the day. For example Madcap Escapade was (rightfully) 1/5 in the 7F stake, starts her move and looks like she's going to blow by then just stops all her momentum. AA went over the same spot and lost all momentum as well- he managed to rerally and even stick his nose in front before Giacomo and Closing Argument snuck by on the outside.

I don't think Rose did anything wrong. He had the horse in the right spot given that insane pace.
