Watch the Baltimore Ravens teams from the last decade.

It's hard to imagine the Jets can be as good defensively - maybe they will be. Its hard to imagine they will have as good of a running game - maybe the will.

The Ravens always had an awesome defense and running game - but they were undermined by guys like Tony Banks, Trent Dilfer, Elvis Gerbac, Mr. Gutterball Kyle Boller... true they went 15-1 with a long over the hill Steve McNair and have won playoff games with Delaware Blue Hen QB Flacco in both of his two seasons.

Basically .. the Ravens were one top flight QB away from being the best dynasty around.

And because of incompetent qb play - what do they have to show for it? Just one Super Bowl ring ... and the key to that lone Super Bowl ring was thanks in part to them blocking a short range field goal against the Titans and returning it for a TD .. basically a 10 point swing play in a razor thin playoff road game against a team who they lost that years divisional crown to.

They said on the Fan today that Cromartie has 7 kids with 6 different women. Sounds like Scav.

i might be missing your point but this seems to be an arguement in favor of the jets.

if all they're missing is competent play at qb, i don't see why sanchez in his 2nd year can't improve over his rookie year as an nfl qb. if the jets can win games with 17-21 points on offense, that takes a lot of the pressure off snachez to make plays and reduces the brett favre like forced throws into coverage.

i think this is good news for sanchez. he won't put up great fantasy numbers but he won't need to for the jets to win games.

Don't get in the way of DrugS talking in circles. His point is that Sanchez sucks and won't ever be anything more than Trent Dilfer. I'd argue, but considering how wrong he's been about everything football-related ever on DT, that seems like overkill.

Wasn't I like 3-1 on here this year with my non-involving Patriots football picks?

Kerry Rhodes traded to Arizona for a 2010 4th and 2011 7th. Gotta say I'm not pleased. Hollywood has been disappointing since he was re-upped but we have no other free safeties on the roster. This creates a hole that didn't have to be there.

He played alot better after Rex benched his ass. But apparently there was something very secretive about Rhodes situation. Because after the season Rex had a media session and the only guy who he refused to shed any light on was Kerry Rhodes. He pretty much said that there was a conversation between the two and he wasn't going to discuss it with the media. Not sure but it seems like there was some sort of issue. I personally think the guy is talented, but it seems like he has many off the field distractions. I have heard people say that they are not sure if he wants to be a TV star or a football player.

Yeah, I know all of that, but recently there were signs that Rex and Kerry had worked out their differences. My main issue with Kerry this year was his seemingly sudden aversion to hitting and tackling. He's got the athleticism to be great but before the benching I saw him constantly halfheartedly swiping at guys or trying to tackle people in the open field using one shoulder. That pissed Rex and fans off, because they both like hard-nosed safeties. I mean, just look at about :51 of highlights from the 2nd Jets/Bills game:

Still, he did play better late in the season and in the playoffs and this creates a need where there wasn't one. Eric Smith is much improved and is terrific against the run, but he's not nearly athletic enough to be the answer in pass coverage.

Joey, maybe the guy is a bit of a head case. He went from being one of the faces of the defense the last couple of seasons, to pretty much anonymity this season (between the addition of Scott and Revis absolutely blowin up). Maybe the guy needs/wants the spotlight on him all the time. The only time he got it this season was when he was stinkin up the joint.
