OMG, just saw the video on another site. That was one of the worst things I have ever seen.

You would really think those poles would be padded, not that it may have mattered going that fast. I pray this dude felt nothing.

Can't imagine all the padding in the world would have helped that poor fellow.

just saw the replay. that was tough. they need to slow that track down. it's way to fast. there was 2 crashes earlier but farther away from the finishline.
i watched several sledding trials in the last month and not watched anything that fast.

Padding? What kind of design is that with those steel H-Beams so close to the track? If I designed that thing, I don't think I could live with myself. I am sure they are there to support a roof, but it is an outside sport, the roof is only there for the comfort of photogs or workers. F them, lose the roof. It's too late for that though.

If someone leaves that track, they should hit netting or padding (like high jumpers or pole vaulters), not steel.

Wow, very sad.

No way can I watch the video or would I want to. I accidentally saw one photo... that was bad enough.
