Nobody voted against the stimulus and then said the stimulus was wonderful. What happened is that stimulus money was thrown at many many existing projects, projects that GOP members had actually previously supported, BEFORE STIMULUS. Now the administration is trying to take credit for all the jobs and admonish anyone for taking credit for it, just because they piled on the stimulus cash. Its disingenuous and a phony outrage. Only simpletons fall for this stuff. |

![]() Ive ordered my copy from Amazon. I think it will be quite interesting. It is obvious from excerpts and even from the interviews where he backtracks some that paulson doesnt have a very high opinion on Macain or Palin.
This will be one of the only Pro-Bush things I will ever say. The guy didnt screw around. If it was something or someone that he believed in, he went forward with it both guns blasting. More often than not, it seems that he made poor decisions but at least he made the bold moves...even if they were unnecessary or way late. His leadership in the fall of 2008 came way late. If he had made moves in august 2007 when things started to really lock up, the mess wouldnt have been as bad. As bad as that is, at least when he was finally convinced that we were in a dire situation, he didnt clam up. He made bold, unprecedented moves that he will never get credit for making. |

![]() I have to agree with you, that when Bush's advisers told him to move, he didn't dilly-dally, he moved. Perhaps his boldness of late stemmed from it's simply being late in his term.
Have you been keeping an eye on Britian? The investigation into the Iraq war? Speculation (probably won't happen) Bush could have to provide some information. I'm going to order the Paulson book, too, looks interesting. Game Change, although much of the "gossipy" stuff was made public when the book came out, is far more interesting and in-depth than that, talking about the candidates and inside their campaigns. It was worth it.

i thought the only thing he did right was the iraq surge. but then, we shouldn't have been there to have a surge to begin with.

"I have opposed every stimulus plan that has come before Congress because it is simply bad policy, but if they pass, the communities in my district which are paying for them deserve to be equally considered in their benefits," Mr. Linder said. Once they passed this, then why shouldn't these Republicans not ask for it? Why do the people in need to be left out in cold? Why should it only go to the states that their Representative who voted for it only get it? This is the same BS on health care. When Nebraska and Michigan and whoever else get special consideration over all other states and left these states out in the cold from having the same deals.
