i didn't support the guy and he seems to have plenty of issues, but something seems very wrong here. He spent his own money on the campaign, he didn't hide anything or break any laws. Now he gets railroaded and told he must bow out?

Like I said, I don't support him or anything he did in the past, but when elections get overturned by the mob it sets a bad precedent. All of this energy should have been put into beating him at the ballot.

what's very strange is the fact the clear cut runner-up Art Turner is getting no mention and instead the Dem party, namely (Maddigan / Mel / Quinn) will decide who they want as 'they' apparantly outrank the vote and as usual 'know better'. If this were the other party racism (Turner is African American) would be the cry everywhere. Was Cohen a fall-guy all along?

I would expect that they would take the runner up, right? I know Hines said thanks but no thanks.

The whole process by how the Lt Guv is selected is messed up to begin with. I read the history on how it came to be, but still don't think it's fair to the Governor to have a Lt Gov selected for him.

one of Cohen's largest supporters during the election was Dick Mel (Chicago Alderman and Dem powerhouse) who believe it or not is the father of now indicted former Gov. Blagojevich's wife. This was a primary so only dems voted for him and he was the 'machine' candidate so he won simple as that. They will now undoubtedly choose some downstate yahoo so as to bring in that vote as he will be crying "I will stop all that waste spending in Chicago and Cook County" while Quinn continues to sign away bigger and bigger checks.

It just seems odd that you don't see or hear any ads before the election for Cohen (at least none that I recall), and then the very next morning after the election, BAM! all over the front page about him and the knife and the prostitute ex girlfriend and the divorce records come pouring out. Very consipicuous timing if you ask me. Let's see who they annoint, I mean appoint.

I think I'd be perfect for a job that requires zero skills and contains no real duties.
I'd just spend a few hours a month arguing for lower takeout at AP, & then spend the rest of my time playing X-Box.
