It seemed to matter quite a deal to Leonard, Crenshaw and co at Brookline.
Although I agree that the difference btw EU and US is that the Ryder Cup means more to Europeans than majors and vice-versa with the yanks. That said, it still means something whenever you represent your country, surely?
