Come on Kev, no disgrace at all in losing to Cink the way he was playing. Holing shouts he had no right to all the way around the course.
I take your point about him being hyped, of course he is. But you too must agree that he is a golfer with a touch of something special about him. His inventiveness allows him to pull off shorts very few others would dream of playing. Moreover, the guy is just 26, already playing in his 4th Ryder Cup, and in time looks destined to become the leading scorer in the event. He alread has 15, Faldo's 25 remains the record, with Monty on 23.5. He has plenty of time to translate the brilliance he shows in this format to strokeplay, and I have little doubt that he will. |

I would trade Mickelson's Ryder Cup perfromance for Sergios's, wouldnt you guys? I lost track, how many points did Phil grab for the Americans?

I find it hysterical that you guys think the Americans really care.
It doesn't put any money in their pockets, its an exhibition. Honestly, I don't understand it. |

It seemed to matter quite a deal to Leonard, Crenshaw and co at Brookline.
Although I agree that the difference btw EU and US is that the Ryder Cup means more to Europeans than majors and vice-versa with the yanks. That said, it still means something whenever you represent your country, surely? |

I agree that they dont care. Its quite pathetic and embarassing and what I find hysterical is that you guys actually root for these imbeciles.

Root?
I didn't watch a hole. I read the results on the net. I just can't get up for that thing no matter how hard I try. I just think its an exhibition and all the four ball and foursome stuff is just nonsense. I mean, what a joke. Americans are not taught the team concept and never have been. American players grow up learning stroke play, even in high school, with minor emphasis on even match play. I mean, Tim, our golfers grow up and learn stroke play almost exclusively and then you want em to learn the fine points and strategy of four ball, etc on one day every two years? Blah. I love golf Tim, you know that. But the format of that whole thing just stinks, its hard to get excited about. |

Mike, you didnt watch. Trust me, someone who did, the Americans would have been blown out of the water using any points system. Thats a very silly excuse as to why they couldnt compete. Your first one was much more logical, there wasnt the million dollar paycheck up for grabs. The American golfers are no different than the top guys who play baseball like A Rod. They could care less about team achievements. That performance was an utter mess and their captain should be very ashamed of that team.

I suspect people on here would have a different attitude towards the Ryder Cup if our team had won it. Suddenly it would mean something. As it stands it just doesnt matter because our team was horrible.
