Yeah, taking a chance that a jockey gets trampled to make sure a race gets completed is a good idea. And I'm sure GP wants to refund $600k worth of wagers...

As usual, many here are having reading comprehension issues.
It's not about making the race a no contest. This was clearly justified, as no race should be more important than the safety of a jockey. It's about the 10 minute delay BEFORE the race, when they, apparently, didn't have the starting gate in place (or, perhaps they needed to switch gates, or whatever --- which still means they didn't check the gate beforehand.) It's about that they're just flat out UNPREPARED for racing. So, they can't get the starting gate out of the way opening week. They can't get the starting gate in place in time for a race yesterday. And, they continually fail to properly time their races. These are the issues. This is a BUSH operation. If I bet the way that GP runs their racing, I'd be broke in a day. The track is a ****in' joke. About all they can do right is scrape the track when they want those speed biases. They're really good with that ****. Last edited by Kasept : 01-21-2010 at 01:48 PM. |
