Big Bruce is the modern day Charlie Casserly. The guy had huge shoes to fill with the departure of Bobby Bethard in Washington, but was completely clueless about how to develop a team, much less have an eye for talent (trading up to draft Heath Shuller #4 overall was one of countless errors in judgment as far as his "draft prowess" was concerned). They made excuses for him year after year, until finally he became Houston's, and inevitably, Dom Caper's problem.

Give the guy credit, he was a hell of an actor-posing-as-a-GM for many years and cashed a few nice checks. But eventually, his past (and is record of screwing up halfway decent franchises) caught up with him.

Bruce wallowed in mediocrity in Atlanta before coming to Tampa and completely dismantling a Super Bowl winning team, reducing it to the rubble it now is. 3-13 was considered "well, it could have been worse".
By the way, in the 5 years since his departure, Atlanta is now actually a decent team, and had Matt Ryan not gone down at the end may well have contended for a playoff spot.

Bruce Allen's only hope and prayer is that Shanny tells him what to do.

Redskins are a poorly run franchise.
