As a four year old, Lost Code raced 7 times.

6 wins with his one loss a close 2nd to Bet Twice in the Pimlico Special, with Cryptoclearance in third.

He made over 2 mil in his career.

A couple of his more memorable races: A great third in a three horse photo in the Haskell with Bet Twice and Alysheba. Bet Twice by a neck over Sheba, with Lost Code another neck back. Fourth was 12 back.

Then his four year old debut he won a 7f race in 121.1 at GP by 15.

That was a really underrated horse that had the misfortune of being in one of the most loaded crops in history.

Lost Code was a good 9f dirt horse who - if I am remembering correctly - cleaned up the 2nd-tier derby races his 3yo year. I know he won here (the Illinois Derby), and I think he may have won a couple of other races of that nature too (Ohio and Pensylvania maybe?). As Indian Charlie said, he had a nice 4yo campaign as well and was just a very good G2-type 9f dirt horse for the most part.

I don't recall him ever doing much as a sire, but oddly enough both Lost Aptitude and Maximus Ruler - two receiving attention in this thread - are out of Lost Code mares.

Argh, don't remind me. My only good opinion all day on Saturday and I forgot to bet him. Liked him a little in his debut too when he was a narrow third at 52-1.

I bet him first out, when he went off at a ridiculous 52-1 (couldn't believe they let him go off at that price with the way Roman Ruler's 2-yos have been running this year), and he nearly won in a photo. I refused to play him this past weekend at 5-1 or so, and that turned out to be a bad decision.

Anyone know much about the Zito Runner "Our Dark Knight"? I think he's a Medaglia D'Oro. Finished 2nd in the slop at Toga to one of Bafferts runners...I think it was Bulldogger. Could be interesting. Think he's training at Palm Meadows and eyeing Gulfstream.

A couple of my favorites are on the sidelines right now but they're back in training and should be ready to run by January. One is a Sadler horse named Sidney's Candy. The other is a Baffert horse named Bulldogger.

Sadler has one named Samardo who ran a very impressive 3rd in his lone start at Del Mar. He was absolutely flying at the end. He's not showing any works right now. I don't know what his injury was or what his status is right now.

I forgot about Bullfrogger, he was the horse who broke his maiden first out on Travers Day, right? What happened to him? Did he race since?

Yes, that's the horse. He has not run since. He came out of the race with shins so they gave him some time off. He just had his first work since the race yesterday. He worked 3 furlongs in :36 at Santa Anita.

I like both of your's.
I also have a thing for TINY WOODS. HE IS TRULY SPECIAL. The way he stopped for me at Saratoga is something I will never EVER FORGET.

Are you saying that Sidney's Candy and Samardo are not good horses since they lost first-time out at 5 1/2 furlongs to Tiny Woods? At this point I don't like Tiny Woods at all, but that doesn't lower my opinion of the other two horses at all. Neither one of those horses were fully cranked up for their debut. The fact that they lost to Tiny Woods at 5 1/2 furlongs first-time out is meaningless.

Both of the races that Sidney's Candy ran in were live races. Marcello came back and won an allowance race and then ran 2nd in a stakes race. Who's Up came back and won a stakes race. Indian Firewater came back and won. The Program came back and won. Those are just off the top of my head. I think there may have been another couple of winners that came out of those maiden races.

Drosselmeyer- I made fun of this horse when he debuted at Saratoga because he had dirt written all over him but was entered for turf. After two decent turf races he tried the Polytrack at Keeneland and ran an improved race. Then making his dirt debut as a MTO he beat up on a soft field at a mile at CD but looked good pulling away from the field. He earned a BSF of 87and his pedigree makes him appealing. He's by Distorted Humor out of the solid mare Golden Ballet, who won the Santa Anita Oaks as a 3YO over eventual Ky Oaks winner Flute. He's currently 200-1 at Wynn.

Take Turns- He broke his maiden at first asking against a pretty decent field at FG. Later on the card when he debuted (11/22) 2YO N1X La breds went better than a half second slower while going the opening half-mile quicker. He received an 88 BSF and his trainer, Morris Nicks, seemed to indicate afterwards he thinks he has Derby-type potential. He's by Seeking the Gold out of the Seattle Slew mare Alternate.

Wow Wow Wow- Making his first start on dirt around two turns, this guy set a snappy pace and stayed on willingly. He's with DWL, which means the Derby is obviously on his radar and he probably will appreciate the added ground.

These are just a couple of horses I had in mind. I still like Discreetly Mine a bit as the Champagne results were quite mixed with Homeboykris getting pummeled and Super Saver looking like a serious horse.

Anyone else?

Discreetly Mine beat Super Saver in the latter's debut, but that won't happen anytime soon. I don't think DM wants a step over 7 furlongs.

I think it's way too early to tell on Discreetly Mine. I do like that Hough stopped on him when he did and I think the horse will benefit from it next year.

Believe it or not, that was actually not a bad field. The horses that ran 1-2 in there can run. That horse Sourdough Sam is not a bad horse. In his debut, he had a ton of trouble and still won by 7 lengths. He's got a really nice turn of foot. He had a pretty bad trip in the stakes race. Both of the top two finishers in that race had troubled trips. The winner was lucky to stay up and Sourdough Sam had a terrible, terrible ride. Sam's come home time in his prior race was outstanding.
