Well said, regardless if one prefers poly, dirt, turf races. I thought this was one of the better BC's from a betting perspective and Zenyatta just capped it off with a performance that will be remembered in BC lore.

No pissing contest at all. Tom had a good call with Gio Ponti. I posted that Z was the likeliest winner but an underlay and that's exactly what she did....I have to say I still think Rachel should get it but I'm happy Zenyatta won.

She obviously does what she needs to do, and not much more. She had a whole lot left to do at the top of that stretch, but she inhaled them.

.

The Mosses hinted a month or so ago that she might. The Dubai World Cup on synthetic could be tempting before retiring her to be bred. She now has about $5.5 million in lifetime earnings -- if she won the Dubai World Cup, she would have to be close to Curlin for the record.

They should keep her in training another year.... Now there is truly TRULY NOTHING TO LOSE. They could have an east coast campaign, a Dubai World Cup, all dirt, all vs the boys. It could be special

DWC isn't on dirt.

They have very little to gain from running her again.

During the TV chatter I think the owners said she desrved to go out undefeated with her record in tact.

I don't think Moss is out to "gain anything from running her",as you say.I think he just enjoys seeing her win,and from the replies from him and Sherriffs, they were more concerned about the fans and how much everybody loved seeing her run.I don't think Moss is in this to gain anything. He has more money than God.I think he just enjoys racing and seeing others enjoy it also.

Odd response.

Obviously the money is irrelevant to him - and that was part of my point - nothing to gain from purses.

The other part is that for her legacy she has very little to gain. Her undefeated record is now the #1 concern since she already has the big win. If she were to go to Dubai she would have to leave the comfort of her stall in CA, ship halfway across the world, and face what is likely to be a field full of international freaks including the best European horses now that the race is for $10M on synth.
